WellNow no longer accepting Excellus insurance - Yahoo News UK

Jan. 1—Excellus BlueCross BlueShield announced Monday, Jan. 1 WellNow Urgent Care has been removed from its provider network after the health insurance company and the urgent care clinic chain could not reach an agreement about reimbursement rates.

Although patients with Excellus could still be treated at WellNow, they may see higher out-of-pocket costs from using an out-of-network provider.

WellNow operates clinics locally in Oneonta and Cobleskill.

Excellus "has made every effort to engage in good faith contract discussions with WellNow Urgent Care so they would remain in our network in 2024," spokesperson Aida Byrne said in a statement. "WellNow, however, has declined our latest offer, which included an increase in reimbursement."

Excellus insurance-holders can visit www.ExcellusBCBS.com/CareOptions for information on primary care doctors, telehealth and urgent care.
